Notice of reception of sea (surface) mail to Russia.

From November 30, 2020.
* Since sea (surface) mail from Japan to Russia does not pass through the equator, it is possible while the temperature is low.

Japan Post has not yet resumed since the suspension of air parcel transportation to Russia in April 2020.

Considering the current status of resumption of passenger aircraft operations, we will accept shipping by sea (surface) mail to customers who wish.

Shipping parcels from Tokyo to Russia will be shipped according to the following flow.

1: TOKYO shipment
2: Depart (Dispatch) from KAWASAKIHIGASHI Post Office
3: Arrive at Vladivostok International Post Office
4: Transport by Trans-Siberian Railway
5: Arrival at the destination post office.
6: Please pick up the parcel at the post office.

It will arrive at the post office closest to you in about 2 months after the parcel is shipped.

Tracking information is not updated between KAWASAKIHIGASHI and Vladivostok (about 2-3 weeks).

During transit by the Trans-Siberian Railway (about 2-3 weeks), tracking information will not be updated until the parcel passes through a stopover such as Yekaterinburg.

For Russian customers who wish to use sea (surface) mail, please enter "Surface mail accepted" in the comment field when ordering. If you do not enter it, we will send you a confirmation email so please reply. If there is no reply, we will refund you.

*Cancellation is not possible after shipping.

From November, JAL between Tokyo and Moscow resumed one weekly flight. However, it seems that there are not enough planes for the export volume from Japan, and Japan Post has not resumed the transportation of air parcels. This situation is likely to continue at least until the end of January 2022.

Sea (surface) mail to Russia shipped on December 3 (Thursday), December 4 (Friday), and December 7 (Monday) has been registered in the database in Vladivostok.

It seems that they do not usually call at South Korea, but we were told that a pandemic would create irregular routes.

Also, after that The parcels shipped on January 7th are registered in Vladivostok on February 16th. It seems that direct ships and via ships are mixed.

April 16, 2021

Transportation times are normalizing.

The parcels (sea [surface] mail) shipped to Russia in December 2020 took three months to be registered in Vladivostok.

afterwards,

Shipped in January 2021: 2.5 months
Shipped in February 2021: 1.75 months

It was shortened to almost normal.
After arriving in Vladivostok, transportation within Russia is going well.

*Tracking information may not be registered in Vladivostok, it may be registered in NOVOSIBIRSK, or it may be omitted and registered in Moscow. Due to the large quantity, Russian Post seems to simplify the registration process.

---

Sep 30, 2021

The port of Vladivostok is crowded and the arrival of ships is delayed.
Currently, it takes about 3.5 months for a parcel to be registered in Vladivostok after shipping the parcel.

---

Oct 18, 2021

During the last four months, the port of Vladivostok has been so congested that ships have been unable to enter the port and have to wait at sea, resulting in a significant delay.

Currently, it takes 3.5 months to arrive and register at Vladivostok after shipping the parcel, and it takes 4 months to deliver.

There is no sign that it will be resolved, and there is a possibility that it will be further delayed in the future.

In addition, there is no sign that air parcels destined for Russia will be resumed, and surface (sea) mail is the only means of delivery.

We will continue to accept surface (sea) mail, but we have no idea when it will be delivered.

* The parcel has never been lost.

------------------

The delivery status as of April 19, 2022 is as follows.

The parcels we shipped in August were delivered in February.
The parcels we shipped in September were delivered in March.
The parcels we shipped in October were delivered from late March to early April.
It's been very time consuming, but at this point there are no lost parcels.
