Oil blotting paper originates from a type of paper called "furuya paper," a by-product of gold leaf production. Once softened by repeated beating, "furuya paper" was highly valued by geisha in Kyoto and Kanazawa as a tool for touching up their makeup.
Inspired by this paper, HAKUICHI was the first in Japan to commercialize "oil blotting paper made using the gold leaf beating method."
This unique manufacturing method, which achieves outstanding absorbency, is patented and ISO certified.
