Reflect Lactic Acid Bacteria (T-21 strain) is a plant-derived lactic acid bacterium discovered by Nissin Food Products in cranberry grown in the Shiga Kogen region. It is being studied for its ability to regulate immune balance (Th1/Th2) and alleviate allergic symptoms (such as hay fever and house dust allergies).
Reflect Lactobacillus has a strong ability to promote the production of the immunomodulatory substance interleukin-12 from immune cells, which has been proven to suppress allergic symptoms such as hay fever and atopic dermatitis.
Specific research results show that subjects who consumed foods containing Reflect Lactobacillus experienced relief of hay fever symptoms within four weeks and perennial rhinitis symptoms within three weeks. Significant improvements were reported in symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and nasal itching.
The mechanism of action of these lactic acid bacteria is to balance the immune system. Allergic reactions are primarily caused by an overreaction of immune cells called Th2 cells.
